Job summaryThis 10 PA Speciality doctor post is within the male low secure Rehabilitation and Recovery part of the Forensic Directorate of the East London Foundation NHS Trust. One post is available, based at Wolfson House (311-315 Green Lanes, London N4 2ES).The successful candidate provided day-to-day care for patients on two wards, and be provided with shared office and support services at Wolfson House. It is expected that that the post will be divided between 8 PAs of Direct Clinical Care, and 2 PAs of Supporting Professional Activity.Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will work at the level of a Specialty Doctor, working on Butterfield and Hoxton ward, to join two other Speciality doctor and a Physician Associate in covering the unit. Cross cover across the ward is expected for holidays and other absences. Duties will include day-to-day management of inpatients, including mental state examinations, physical health reviews and reviews of medications; reviews of enhanced observations; admission assessments, reports and discharge summaries.Some of our patients require specialist observation in seclusion; participation in secluded patient reviews, when necessary is expected. On occasion, there will be the opportunity to liaise with prisons and courts. Attendance at ward rounds and CPA review meetings is also expected, although this may be limited because of the two ward role. A core responsibility will be the preparation of reports for the Mental Health Review Tribunals, Manager's Hearings and other meetings as required. There will be the opportunity to participate in the treatment programmes and attend unit wide activities such as academic activity, supervision, community meetings and unit events.Out of hours on-call duties are not expected; it may be possible to negotiate inclusion onto the second on call rota if experience and qualifications are appropriate.About usOur mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve.
