What’s the Role: Support Worker What It Takes: An important part of the staff role is to provide support to our individuals who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions. So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential. Our dedicated staff team support individuals to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our individuals with day to day life. Where You Would Work: West Midlands Supported Living Service Baxter is a supporting living house for 2 female individuals we support with Learning Disabilities and secondary mental health issues. It has 2 beds, an office/sleep in room, 2 lounges, kitchen/ dining. Both SU’s have learning disabilities with behaviours that challenge. They have 24/7 staff supporting with some personal care. There are 3 members of staff on shift between 7am – 9pm. The shift patterns are 7am – 2pm, 9am -9pm, 10am – 5.30pm and 2pm -11pm (sleep). Both individuals we support are 2: 1 in the community. Salary dependent on experience.
