John Whitgift Academy are looking to appoint an outstanding, committed, and motivated Teacher of Science to join our academy in September 2024 on a fulltime, permanent basis. Our academy is situated close to the A180 making it ideal for commuting. Despite being one of the most rapidly growing academies in North East Lincolnshire, due, primarily to our success and outcomes over recent years, relationships between students and staff are excellent and we have maintained a small school friendly atmosphere. Behaviour in our academy is very good with a relentless focus upon learning and aspiration. We have outstanding refurbished Science laboratories. The science curriculum for the students of John Whitgift Academy has been designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the scientific knowledge and ideas that impact them as individuals within a local and globalised context. As they move through the curriculum, students will be increasingly made to develop their curiosity, provide insight into working scientifically and appreciate the value of science in their everyday lives. Our curriculum provides a platform for more advanced science based study, providing a gateway into a wide range of career opportunities. It also delivers a framework for understanding the natural world and supporting students to become scientifically literate participants in society. In addition, we are fortunate to have some outstanding facilities that help to further enhance the quality of teaching and learning, such as, an Engineering block, 2 full size swimming pools and a 207-seater cinema.
