Job summaryYou will be an integral part of the Tissue Bank Team, performing a range of routine tasks ensuring adequate supply of consumables required within the Tissue Bank to allow tissue to be processed by a dedicated team of specialist staff within strict guidelines. This will include liaising with both internal and external stakeholders including contractors and suppliers, monitoring laboratory stocks and supplies on a daily basis to help optimise use of consumables and to reduce wastage, prepare stores orders, and record receipt of goods inward. Working in a fast moving and variable environment your essential role will directly contribute to saving and improving lives. You will undertake an extensive induction and training programme, with ongoing assessment, and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions.Main duties of the jobYou will be required to support and assist in the work of the Tissue Bank under supervision, performing a range of routine tasks. You will ensure the efficient functioning of all aspects of tissue processing to the required quality standards. You will assist in developing the service in anticipation of future clinical needs. You will be required to update stock acceptance records written and/or electronic, to take receipt of, and account for incoming stock. You will be responsible for stock and consumable ordering, liaising with internal and external stake holders.
