Walker & Watts are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Asset Inspector specialising in conducting health checks on electrical equipment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that electrical installations owned by SP Energy Networks meet current standards and regulations for safety and efficiency.
£12 p/h rising to £15p/h on completion of training. District locations are currently Edinburgh, Glasgow and Lanarkshire.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Health Checks: Perform health checks on electrical equipment owned by SP Energy Networks to ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
Inspection Procedures: Learn and adhere to established inspection procedures and guidelines to accurately assess the condition of electrical assets.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, including any identified issues or deficiencies, as well as recommendations for corrective action.
Compliance Assurance: Assist in ensuring that all inspected electrical equipment complies with relevant industry standards and regulations, including health and safety guidelines.
Training and Development: Undergo training and development programs to enhance knowledge and proficiency in electrical equipment inspection techniques and standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior inspectors and other team members to coordinate inspection schedules, share insights, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills – driving is an essential aspect
Educational Background: Understanding of Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential.
Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of electrical systems and equipment is desirable, with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to meticulously inspect electrical equipment to identify any irregularities or potential issues.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate inspection findings and recommendations.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing positively to group objectives and initiatives.
Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in various environments, including outdoor field inspections.
