Job summaryWe now have a vacancy for a full time Band 2 Ward Clerk to work on the Orthopaedic Ward at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury.The post holder will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward/ unit staff. They will be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the ward / department office. They will also provide general assistance to the ward / unit staff.Main duties of the jobReceive messages in person, by telephone, e-mail or letter and respond appropriately.Ensure that patient's notes and other documentation are prepared and managed confidentiallyTake responsibility for accurate data entry and retrieval via computer e.g, Patient centre, Casenote tracking, and other systems.Ensure that discharged patient notes are returned promptly to appropriate secretaries or medical records department, including case note tracking.Arrange follow-up appointments if required.Ensure that patient admission documentation is maintained appropriately and that a record is kept of clinical activity, as required.Ensure that stationery/supplies are ordered as necessary.Ensure that patient's notes are made available prior to admission.Ensure that information is relayed appropriately to the multi-professional and/or multiagency teams to ensure the safe discharge and follow-up of patients.Report/requisition broken or faulty equipment and furnishings within the ward/departmentAbout usThe Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester.
