We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the South-West, who are recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer on an initial 3-month locum contract. The role is due to start immediately and is offering an hourly rate of circa £50 - £60 via an Umbrella company, and fully remote working. The ideal candidate will be qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, and have extensive experience handling judicial reviews. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Advising on a variety of civil litigation matters, providing expert legal advice and representation in various civil disputes Handling a varied caseload including general litigation and judicial review proceedings Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documents, and providing case analysis Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions when appropriate Advising in respect of selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work Providing guidance and supervision to junior members of the Litigation team Experience required: Experience required in complex Litigation Strong experience handling judicial reviews Local Government experience Qualified as a Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister Rewards and Benefits: Remote working Working hours: 35 hours per week Monday - Friday Open to part-time applicants Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
