You will be able to demonstrate your post-HCPC registration experience in Histology and participate in the production of histology sections for microscopic examination which includes biopsy/specimen transfer, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, special stains, microscopy and frozen sections. Completed IBMS specialist portfolio. MSc is desirable. Responsibilities Practice and maintain HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist. Following laboratory policies and procedures inline with ISO 15189 and UKAS accreditation. Conduct unsupervised routine and complex investigations and analysis if tissue samples. Carry out tasks relating to the day to day organisation and delivery of the pathology services. Liaising with Pathologists for the introduction and development of new techniques. Assist the Service Lead in with departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient delivery of Histology services. Assist the Service Lead with strategies for training and development of all staff. Assisting with the developing and maintaining of contingency plans for the department.
