Job summary This position is hosted by the EES (Evaluation & Epidemiological Science) Division in collaboration with a Health Protection Research Units (HPRUs). The HPRUs are partnerships between UK universities and the UKHSA. By delivering high-quality collaborative research, the HPRUs support UKHSA in its objective to protect the health of the public, enabling it to prepare for and respond to major or emerging health protection incidents, as well as building an evidence base for health protection policy and practice. This position is within the Evaluation and Behavioural Science HPRU (EBS HPRU), hosted by the University of Bristol). The EBS HPRU supports the UKHSA to do research that helps people and organisations improve their own and the public's health, particularly relating to reducing infectious diseases. Main duties of the job The Senior Scientist works closely with colleagues to provide epidemiological and data management support across a number of topic areas; including evaluation and epidemiological science priorities and in collaboration with other partners. This will include supporting and managing the technical and analytical aspects of epidemiological investigations and supporting a team in carrying out these tasks.The interface with local, regional and national colleagues, as well as with external stakeholders, will be an important feature of this role.
