Implementing and troubleshooting of Drone CAN/UAVCAN, serial and IP communication protocols for sensor, actuator and controller integration. Through-life testing of UAS systems and sub-systems from initial sub-system prototype to full development platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robotics functions are integrated with the whole system and validated appropriately. Documenting integration processes, system configurations, test procedures and troubleshooting guidelines for internal and external stakeholders. Essential Skills And Experiences Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in Mechatronics, Robotics, Autonomous Vehicle Control or similar discipline. Extensive experience with ArduPilot and its ecosystem, including addition of new sensing hardware and computational enhancements such as companion computing. Experience with the control of autonomous systems at both low and high levels. Experience with integration within complex autonomous systems. Familiarity with Linux-based environments, scripting, and software development tools. Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing methodologies. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Desired Skills And Experiences Proficiency in Drone CAN (or UAVCAN), IP networking and serial communications for integrating sensors, actuators, and other peripherals. Strong knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) for robotic control and sensor fusion. Hands-on experience with C++, Python, and embedded system development.
