Parkview is part of a wider inpatient service, including 2 General Adolescent Units and a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit. The clinic was rated ‘GOOD’ overall in its latest CQC inspection, with all domains also rated ‘GOOD’. The post holder will provide senior psychiatric input and medical leadership within a multidisciplinary inpatient team, delivering psychiatric assessments, treatment, and medical risk management for inpatients and their families. They will support quality improvement and clinical governance alongside the medical lead and professional leads. Close collaboration with other consultant psychiatrists and medical staff at Parkview is expected. The role includes specialist consultation, peer supervision of medical and non-medical colleagues, and junior doctor supervision. Strategically, the post holder will engage with Tier 4 and Mental Health Services leadership and management. There is also the potential to assume additional duties as Medical Director. The clinical duties of the post holder will be to support the Tier 4 (T4) redesign and changing demands across the T4 services. The successful candidate together with the other T4 Consultants will provide a tertiary referral service for the assessment and treatment of adolescents suffering from psychiatric disorders that may as part of their management need treatment on an inpatient unit.
