The postholder will provide care from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, & evaluation. They will demonstrate safe clinical decision making & expert care for patients as an integral part of a dedicated. multidisciplinary team.The post holder will incorporate the role dimensions of expert clinical practice, education, leadership, management, & audit. This post will suit an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated nurse with experience in caring for clients with red cell blood disorders, or ED background, or critical care. This is the job for someone who fancies a challenge. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the above conditions & must also be willing to learn or expand their expertise in this area. Support can be given for further development & career progression. We are essentially looking for a nurse who has excellent communication skills & enjoys working as part of a small team. The successful applicant must have experience & must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience for caring for clients with blood disorders, nursing quality and clinical audit/clinical governance.Main duties of the jobTo provide nursing leadership in coordination of care across inpatient, emergency and day care services for patient focused servicesTo provide clinical leadership and practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision making on the ward, day unit and in clinicsTo review and lead the implementation of individual care plans of patients in day unit, emergency care and inpatient settings.To engage and help develop competency packages for each patient pathway and ensure all relevant staff members in all areas are trained and assessed as competent.Support the on-going development of multidisciplinary team working in collaboration with the apheresis clinical nurse specialist, red cell team and the wider clinical Haematology nursing team, as well as other nursing colleagues on wards and in emergency care.You will work as a highly specialised member of the haemoglobinopathy team to assist in enabling the patients to live as a productive member of society and reducing protracted inpatient stays.About usNorth Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. To work collaboratively with the Haemoglobinopathy team to establish clear roles and responsibilities for the managing of the MDT, audit meetings, nurse led clinics, clinical ward rounds and the Haemoglobinopathy Network.4. Provide expert clinical advice, support and guidance for patients, carers and allied healthcare professionals involved in providing care for patients with sickle cell disease or thalassaemia.5.
