Job summaryThis post is fixed term for 18 months to meet the needs of the service.We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, conscientious person interested in gaining experience in our fast-paced People Services Team as an Assistant People Services Advisor, based at Woodland House, Llanishen.This is an opportunity to develop your skills, gain qualifications and start your career in the NHS!Main duties of the jobThe Assistant People Services Advisor is a key member of the People Services Team.You will support the team to provide comprehensive People Services/HR support to the Health Board.You will receive training and mentorship to support you to provide high quality advice and guidance to managers and staff in areas such as: interpretation of policies & procedures, terms & conditions, absence management, maternity & adoption, employee relations (disciplinary investigations, grievance, conflict resolution etc) and the management of organisational change.It is pre-requisite of the role that you will study towards the CIPD Level 5 qualification (duration approx. 12-18 months). The qualification is funded by the UHB and study time is also given for teaching sessions. Assignments will need to be completed in your own time.Following successful completion of the qualification and fulfilling the competencies for the role, there will be an opportunity to progress to a Band 5 People Services Advisor within the People Services Team.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.About usCardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 15,000 staff, providing over 100 specialist services.
