Job Description
Flexible Location: Based throughout Scotland, NES is a remote friendly employer supporting office and hybrid working. Frequent presence at our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices is a requirement of this role. We’re happy to talk about how you want to work. Work Pattern: Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week. You must have eligibility and entitlement to work in the UK which is required to be maintained throughout your period of employment. Who We Are NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations. The Workforce Directorate works at a national level to support the delivery of NES’s strategic plan and is a key partner to the delivery of Scottish Government priorities for the health and social care workforce. The Workforce Directorate plays a multifaceted and dynamic role within NES. We're not just responsible for facilitating the attraction, recruitment, support, training, development, reward, and recognition of NES's workforce; we also hold a crucial responsibility in the employment of doctors and dentists in training across Scotland. Our remit also extends externally to NHSScotland in the recruitment of medical and dental trainees and other vocational trainee groups, across Scotland's broader health sector. We provide a comprehensive People and Organisational Development strategy, and our corporate involvement also extends to managing organisational change through consultancy services. Additionally, we are deeply engaged in ensuring that NES fulfils its commitments to Equality and Diversity, not only within our own workforce but also across all organisational activities. Diversity and Inclusion Developing a successful national service for Scotland is impossible without ensuring we consider the diverse needs, perspectives, and backgrounds of everyone in Scotland in our work. We are focused on hiring the absolute best talent available for NES, and actively encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and aim to ensure everyone is treated fairly, with respect and has a positive recruitment experience – regardless of the outcome. It is not essential to be in an Associate Director role right now. You may be returning from a career break (e.g. maternity, paternity, caring for others) or returning after working in another field. Your experiences elsewhere can bring a fresh perspective to our work. If you are considering applying and feel it would be helpful to discuss this initially, please contact Tracey Ashworth Davies, Tracey.Ashworth-Davies@nhs.scot Next Steps Our recruitment process is currently 100% remote and if successful you would initially work remotely, working from our offices as operationally required. Frequent presence at both our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices is a requirement of this role. Following application submission, the recruitment process will be in two stages. Successful candidates will be contacted, via email, by Wednesday 1 May and invited to participate in: 1. Online Psychometric assessments. This will involve each candidate completing three online assessments, between Wednesday 1 May and Monday 6 May. Once completed, a follow up (online) call between each candidate and our assessment provider will take place - this will last up to 90 minutes and will be scheduled between Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9 May. 2. Panel Interview, including presentation, will then take place between Thursday 16 and Friday 17 May 2024 Full details regarding these two stages (including links to the online assessments) will be emailed to those candidates invited to interview. For further information regarding this post, please refer to the Job Information Pack below. Unless otherwise stated the deadline for applications is 23:59 hours on the closing date. Please note, CV’s will not be accepted.
