Ward 1 is a 32 bedded unit with 17 beds accommodating elective surgery whilst the remaining beds accept acute surgical referrals from GPs, A+E, Outpatient clinics, Same Day Emergency Care and gynaecological emergencies.The ideal candidate will thrive in this fast paced, exciting environment. We welcome applicants from experienced and newly qualified nurses and previous newly qualified staff have highlighted the level of support.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be expected to be responsible for their own team of patients and duties include completing admission packages, medication administration (oral, sub-cutaneous, intravenous and intra-muscular) care of patients pre and post operatively, management of naso-gastric tubes, drain management, wound management, stoma care, discharge planning.The successful applicant will be committed to providing excellent nursing care to our diverse group of patients.
