Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to work within the CAMHS Single Point of Access Team based in Tonteg Hospital.The CAMHS Service has a number of bases across the locality which includes Tonteg Hospital, Carnegie Clinic in Rhondda, KHHP in Merthyr and Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.Main duties of the jobTo provide triage, assessments of all referrals in to the service, establish the most appropriate sign posting and allocation of the referral to meet the needs of the young person.To provide telephone consultation and brief intervention to young people, their families, carers and referring agencies.The post holder will liaise closely with other agencies and professionals and provide consultation when required. There will also be a need to provide teaching and training to others.The post-holder will be responsible for managing own time and will be required to plan a range of complex activities; balancing client needs with other requirements of post.The post-holder will have a thorough understanding of consent to treatment issues and will effectively demonstrate analysis which leads to clinical judgment in client notes.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.About usCwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family. Experience of working within CAMHS or a therapeutic post eg eating disorders, challenging behaviour. Experience of mental health assessment and implementation of a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions. Experience of working in partnership with other agencies. Ability to manage a case load. Working knowledge of health, social services, education and the voluntary sector, together with the relevant legislation regarding children's mental health.
