A unique feature of this post is that there is no overnight or weekend on-call commitment due to a reconfiguration of urgent and emergency care. There is weekday daytime on-call commitment locally but a centralised acute care hub based in Exeter will provide out-of-hours cover for emergencies.Whilst the post holder is formally being appointed to a role within the base hospital of North Devon District Hospital, over time there may be a need to provide some clinical activity in the partner hospital site to ensure service continuity and equity of access to appropriate services.Located in the South West of England, North Devon is recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
