We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement.Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they're likely to die from.The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives. We want a different society than the one we live in now.Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through 3 ways: -Growing and transforming our direct care and supportDelivering more practical information and supportLeading in shaping the end-of-life experienceYour role in our missionAs our Deputy Head of Operations you will be accountable for the management of multiple clinical and non-clinical services with significant scope, span and budget.You'll be accountable and responsible for ensuring the effective operational delivery of a range of designated current and new services, associated resource allocation and defined delivery activity. You will also be responsible for performance management of designated services, contribute to business planning, service review and improvement.In addition, this role will see you provide support in developing efficient and effective patient-centered services in conjunction with Placed Based Leadership Team and taking day-to-day responsibility for meeting key financial and operational performance targets, implement effective processes for delivering national and local targets.This is a hybrid role with both home working and a frequent presence in our London office as well as local community hubs across London.Key Aims:Provide timely, efficient and effective operational management for a range of designated clinical and non clinical services. - Provide management & leadership for a group of defined current and new services engaging staff to ensure these are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest quality, meeting key performance standards.Responsible for the delivery of identified quality and service improvement projects that contribute to the modernisation of patient services.Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met and that new service delivery models are incorporated successfully into the management portfolios.Problem solve as appropriate, and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues.
