The induction program leads to Care Certificate.The HCSW role includes a variety of working patterns which attract shift allowances.Main duties of the jobUnder the supervision of registered healthcare professionals, you will be assisting the team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients. In addition, you will take all possible steps to safeguard the welfare, safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.Typical day-to day duties include:Provide care for patients, helping to maintain their personal hygiene, which will sometimes include working with bodily fluidsProvide physical comfort for patients, whilst ensuring their privacy and dignity is always maintainedWash and dress patients, and helping them to safely move aroundServe meals and help with feedingAssist with cleaning tasks and making bedsMonitor patient condition by taking measurements on temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight.Record information to patient administration system and assist team with other administrative dutiesMost importantly, you will ensure patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives, and colleagues in accordance with Trust values.Please note this job is not eligible for sponsorship.About usHere at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, we are proud to provide expert, compassionate care for our local population. Acting within your sphere of competence always as determined by the minimum skill set for HCSWs.Provide care to patients to maintain their personal hygiene and physical comfort ensuring that their privacy and dignity is always maintained.
