Job summaryThe Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Senior Support Worker will be an integral member of the IPC team working through close supervision of a registered practitioner.The IPC Senior Support Worker is responsible for providing FFP3 mask fit testing to staff that need to use airborne precautions, providing hand hygiene and PPE training to staff and delivering ward based teaching for Health Care Assistants and Nursing Associates for example catheter care, mouth care.Main duties of the jobThe IPC Senior Support Worker will support the IPC team to undertake a range of infection prevention and control audits and surgical site infection surveillance and data input and other interventions as delegated by the registered practitioner and in accordance with existing competencies.The IPC Senior Support Worker will ensure that their practice is guided by standard operating procedures and established policies and guidelines.
