Job summary Express Diagnostics is looking to expand its team of Audiologists and therefore are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivate Band 6/7 Audiologist to work within our friendly, busy Audiology Department on the Plymouth Science Park at Derriford. We currently undertake Hearing Assessments and the Fitting of Hearing Aids under an NHS Contract for Adults but experience of both Adult & Pediatric Audiology is desirable. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will join our Clinical Team of Audiologists to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service which will include working with patients with more complex audio-vestibular issues. You will be expected to cover domiciliary appointments, so a willingness to travel locally/access to a motor vehicle is essential. A willingness to undertake further training is essential, in house training and full clinical supervision will be supported by the department. Be able to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests including diagnostic pure tone audiometry, middle ear function assessment, otoacoustic emissions, speech audiometry and any other related tests. Modify diagnostic assessments to be age and ability appropriate, without compromising the rigour of the assessment. Use appropriate prescription formulae to select and fit the full range of hearing instruments and assistive listening devices to adults using real ear measurement techniques. Develop and implement effective individual aural rehabilitation strategies to optimise patient communication abilities, enhancing the potential for social integration and improved wellbeing on a variety of clients. Demonstrate the ability to analyse and synthesise the clinical findings from the full range of assessments with theory and principles to justify recommendations of outcome. Report on diagnostic outcomes with recommended treatment options progressing to a customised rehabilitative care plan. Coordinate with other relevant professionals.
