Job summaryThe Ridgeway Surgery are looking to recruit a part-time General Practitioner to join our growing dynamic clinical team. The post is for 6 sessions per week (this may increase to 7 sessions in 12 month's time).The post-holder will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with acute and long term conditions. You will also provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.We would welcome informal enquires to discuss the role and responsibilities further - please contact Practice Manager who will be happy to arrange a meeting with existing staff.Main duties of the jobTo work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.About usAt The Ridgeway Surgery we pride ourselves on offering an excellent service to our patients, as evidenced annual in our national GP survey results (https://gp-patient.co.uk/report?w=1&practicecode=M87007#)Our continually growing list size currently stands at just over 11500 patients and our diverse clinical team comprises 6 GPs, an ANP, a Specialist Nurse Practitioner, a Nurse Practitioner and a team of 4 part-time Practice nurses plus an Assistant Practitioner who are all supported by a full administrative team.We are a training practice, taking both doctor and nurse trainees and we are also a research active practice.Offering a friendly and supportive environment, we are proud to stay that our staff turnover remains very low.We are also lead practice for our PCN with one of our Partners being the PCN Clinical Director.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesThe role is commensurate with a salaried GP role and responsibilities.There will be a requirement to provide on-call duties once a week as well as late working on a Monday evening until 8.00pm. In addition:a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationb. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract.c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidanced. Effective management of long-term conditionse. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksf. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidanceg. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadh. Have own allocated listi. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processj. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practicek. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOFl. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings if requiredm. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and trainingn. Ensure compliance with the appraisal processo. Prepare and complete the revalidation processp. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice teamq. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplinesr. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditures. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policiest. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvementu. Supervision for trainees/ARRS staff as requiredv.Undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. (These duties will include reports/cremation forms.
