We’re offering an opportunity for a Support worker to work on a one-to-one basis with a lady in her own Newmarket home. By helping her with the everyday challenges that most people take for granted, you will enable her to enjoy life and live as independently as possible. It is a most fulfilling role. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, energetic, flexible and above all reliable. Whilst full training is given, experience of working with people with a learning and / or physical disability would be advantageous. Another advantage would be a clean driving licence, in order to drive the lady’s vehicle for trips out, shopping and appointments, plus the occasional short-break holiday. Hours are variable but planned well in advance, to serve as many needs as possible. The role involves daytime shifts, including some weekend work and some sleep-ins, which are paid at £60 per Sleep In. Occasional overtime available. Working on a rota basis, mainly with two other colleagues, every effort would be made to allow for plenty of days off, including weekends. Whilst much of your time would be spent working 1-1, you would be very much a part of a close-knit team and regularly join client and colleagues for trips out in the community. You’ll be enhancing the lives of the lady we support, assisting with personal care, supporting to access the local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities.
