    • Job summary The NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme (LCSP) offers all smokers or former smokers aged between 55-74 a Lung Health Check (LHC), and those identified as high risk of lung cancer a low-dose CT scan (LDCT). By the end of March 2025, over 2.5 million people had been invited to a LHC, over 1.2 million people had attended a LHC, and over 750,000 LDCTs had been performed (first and follow-up). This has resulted in over 7,000 cancers being diagnosed, 75% at Stage 1 or 2. It is expected that the LCSP will be fully rolled out across England to all those eligible by 2029/2030 at which point it will transition to become an NHS cancer screening programme. NHS England is now looking to recruit a new Clinical Lead Radiologist for the LCSP who alongside the programme team will support delivery of the programme. The Clinical Lead Radiologist will work alongside the Clinical Lead Respiratory Consultant. The post holder will provide clinical advice, leadership and implementation support to the national programme team and LCSP sites.
