What’s involved? The Material Controller ensures all ingredients and goods are delivered to the Bakery on time, in full. The Material Controller is also expected to liaise closely with planning and operational colleagues to ensure deliveries arrive on time as planned and amendments made to orders in line with planning requirements. The role holder will have ensure site protocols are followed by suppliers and will report supplier KPIs to the business as and when required. Key Areas of Responsibility: Manage the placement of all Purchase orders in line with MRP requirements. Ensure all orders are acknowledged and check quantities and price. Create monthly reports for procurement team. Manage all supplier OTIF KPIs and prepare monthly report detailing supplier performance vs KPIs. Work with supplier, stores team and procurement representatives to optimise deliveries into the business. Support company buyers in supplier review meetings where appropriate. To resolve invoice queries from time to time when applicable. Attend daily ops meeting to report on any potential risks or shortages which may affect production. Support any urgent material requirement. Support NPD with the sourcing of new ingredients. Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends. Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production. Work on optimisation projects with supply chain – pallet heights, quantities, formats, JIT.
