About the Role: As a Sports Coach, you will play a vital role in fostering a love for physical activity while working closely with teachers and support staff to deliver a tailored PE curriculum. You will support the delivery of sport and PE, using sport to encourage confidence, enjoyment, and social skills as part of the students' development. Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning and delivering engaging, adapted sports sessions that cater to the diverse abilities of students. Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel motivated, supported, and valued. Collaborate with teachers and staff to help develop students' physical, social, and emotional skills through sports activities. Encourage teamwork, discipline, and perseverance among students during structured physical activities. Support the monitoring of students' progress and assist in adapting activities to ensure each student is included and appropriately challenged. Maintain a safe and supportive environment during all sports sessions. Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to support the overall development of students. Key Skills and Experience: Experience in a physical education or sports coaching role, particularly in an educational setting, is preferred. Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the ability to adapt activities for a wide range of abilities. Passion for working with children and promoting physical activity and health. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students. Ability to inspire students, build self-confidence, and promote teamwork through sport. Relevant qualifications in PE and sports, such as a Level 2 or 3 Coaching Certification, are desirable. First aid certification is desirable.
