    • Job description The successful applicant will primarily work as an Appeals Co-ordinator within Personnel Security Vetting. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and managing appeals submitted by applicants who have been refused security clearance for roles within HMPPS. This is a critical role requiring sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to make fair, evidence-based decisions. You will oversee the end-to-end appeals process, ensuring outcomes are communicated in a timely and transparent manner and that robust audit trails are maintained. You will also support continuous improvement of the appeals process, provide input into policy development, and engage with internal and external stakeholders as necessary. The role involves handling sensitive information. It requires discretion, integrity, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining the security and credibility of the vetting process. The service treats patients with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and mental health diagnosis such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and some may have a co-morbid diagnosis of learning disabilities. The hospital is Ofsted registered and provides education facilities for patients who are still studying. Patients on average stay for a period of 3-4 months. The aim is to restore a healthy weight, modify problem behaviours linked to the eating disorder and help parents and carers work with the young person. Brook House was recently opened and is situated just a few doors down. This is a satellite centre and supports residents. We are not currently recruiting into this service.
