    • Job description The Public Protection Casework Section (PPCS) is part of the Public Protection Group. The post of Head of Pre Release and Specialist Casework within PPCS is based in HQ and located in 1 Ruskin Square, Croydon. It supports the operational frontline by delivering frontline public protection casework. The Head of Pre Release and Specialist Casework is accountable to the Head of PPCS for: · Managing and delivering parole reviews for c3,500 indeterminate sentence prisoners each year. · The handling of complex Parole Board directions and representing the Secretary of State at Parole Board hearings, where required. · Handling of complex and high-profile cases, judicial reviews and compensation claims. · The Tariff Expired Removal Scheme, parole reviews for indeterminate foreign national prisoners and effective co-operation with UKBA Criminal Cases Directorate. This is a busy and challenging senior manager HQ role, responsible for the effective operation of pre release and specialist parole casework.
