Occasionally there may be patients with a functional condition admitted to Oak ward, under an informal basis. The ward works closely with the Dementia Hospital Avoidance Team who provide a 7 day service caring for community patients living with Dementia. Oak Ward is very well supported by the local acute hospital, The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, who provide the ward with specialist advice and treatment for patients with physical or medical co-morbidities.
