What does the role involve? We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to support the HWRC Site Supervisors in the co-ordination and delivery of all aspects of the HWRC service. What do we expect from you? You will be reporting directly to one of the Assistant Operations Managers. You will have direct engagement with customers, including potentially dealing with difficult situations or aggressive customers. You will assist facility users with the separation and deposit of their waste, encouraging the general public to recycle as much of their waste as possible. You will help to increase reuse and recycling by actively separating/retrieving recyclable waste and encouraging the general public to reuse and recycle their waste. You will handle and process information such as accepting and requesting permits and processing any payments for inert waste as necessary. You will exchange varied information with members of the public and other staff using excellent communication skills. You will follow agreed procedures ensure that skips (and other containers used to collect and store waste) are kept available and booked in and out of the household waste recycling centre. You will deal with collections directly from the household waste recycling centre i.e. fridges, bric-a-brac etc. Additional requirements: The post holder will be required to work on Bank Holidays as standard or in rota irrespective of whether the Bank Holidays fall on their normal working day. The post holder will be required to undertake basic competency qualifications. The post holder will be required to be trained in the operation of any mobile or mechanical plant associated with the role and operate that plant as a daily duty. The post holder will be required to work at other operational facilities within a reasonable distance of their specified facility as required. Role: As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating your assigned projects with an emphasis on thorough planning. Key Responsibilities: Project Coordination: Liaise with trades and contractors to schedule works, arrange materials, and address job queries. Maintain clear, regular communication with Network Contractors to ensure all jobs on the network are managed effectively, while building and sustaining long-term relationships. Procurement & Cost Management: Purchase materials and hire plant for approved works. Manage all aspects of plant hire and off-hire. Reconcile actual costs against estimates and provide cost-saving insights when ordering materials, authorising contractors, and allocating work. Raise and issue purchase orders to suppliers and contractors Customer & File Management: Oversee the customer, client, and claimant experience from start to finish of the repair process. Validate all job details accurately and maintain excellence in file handling by logging all telephone and email communications, updating workflows and reminders, and labelling documents appropriately. Handle invoice processing for repair jobs. Site Support & Risk Management: Review and create risk assessments; collate all required repair documentation. Ensure legal compliance and welfare planning for operatives prior to site attendance. Conduct end-of-day checks with trades and escalate issues to the appropriate site manager or member of management as necessary. Arrange emergency call outs when required. Candidate Profile: Must have some knowledge of construction, ideally through previous work experience or familiarity with the industry. Relevant qualifications are highly desirable. While our team includes several recent graduates, we are particularly keen to add someone with experience. Attention to detail and a professional, courteous phone manner are essential.
