Job summary This new and exciting, Consultant Dietitian post for Clinical Nutrition and Hydration, is one of the first of its kind, in Wales. We are looking for a highly experienced dietitian, who is passionate about using their expertise and skills to further improve the provision of complex nutrition support here in Aneurin Bevan UHB. The successful candidate will be joining our innovative and dynamic acute dietetic team and will support the delivery of high-quality care to patients with highly complex nutrition support needs, across the Health Board, being responsible for a specialist caseload of patients and for providing expert opinion and advice to support the wider acute team and MDT colleagues. This post holder will have experience of influencing at a senior level and will work in close collaboration with key colleagues, as chair of ABUHB's Clinical Nutrition and Hydration Group. Working with clinical directors and service professional leads, they will plan, implement and evaluate the health board's nutrition support and hydration strategies, deliver on multi-profession policy and service development and represent the health board at national policy level. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job The post holder will undertake the role of Consultant Dietitian - Clinical Nutrition and Hydration within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. They will work within the acute dietetic team, supporting and advising on the safe, timely and appropriate nutrition support to a range of patients with complex nutrition support requirements. They will fulfil the role ofchair of ABUHB's Clinical Nutrition and Hydration Group (a sub-group of the overarching strategic group) to ensure clinical nutrition and hydration support services delivered across ABUHB, comply with high quality evidence-based care and meet the requirements of clinical governance. They will deliver on multi-profession policy and service development and represent the health board at national policy level. They will also support relevant specialist groups, local and national committees and networks across Wales, as a clinical expert in their field. This post holder will develop and lead on research and audit programmes and will be expected to provide clinical expertise, supervision and training to both undergraduate and postgraduate staff across the MDT. They will also be expected to develop links and collaborate with national higher education institutions to develop and support both undergraduate and postgraduate education and training.
