Recent droughts have highlighted that water resources are under pressure, and with population growth and climate change affecting water resources, that pressure will increase. Your role will be to help deliver the Government’s support package for farmers and growers. This will include helping project manage a scheme for the identification and assessment of Local Resource Options for agriculture, where groups of farmers will be able to apply for funding to undertake investigations into options to help improve the security of their water supplies. In addition, you will project manage agricultural water resources planning projects. The role will involve working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, Defra, Regional Water Resources Groups, the Water for Food Group, Water Abstractor Groups, plus other representatives from the agricultural sector. You will join a national team delivering these projects and will be at the forefront of developing our approach for water resources planning for agriculture.
