    • Job summary Band 6 Radiographer X-ray (Stanmore and Bolsover Street). Full time position. Must have a minimum of 2 years NHS experience. The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is the largest specialist orthopaedic Trust in the UK with a world renowned reputation. We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic HCPC registered radiographer with good general X-ray experience to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will rotate between the two sites (Stanmore and Bolsover Street). DXA scanning experience is desirable but not essential and training will be given where required. The X-ray department has 5 general x-ray rooms (3 at the main site in Stanmore and 2 at Bolsover Street in central London) 1 Fluoroscopy unit , 5 portable ward machines and a DXA scanner. There are 15 theatres along with image intensifiers, there are also O-Arm and Cios Spin machines. We have also installed EOS and HiRise Ped CT scanners which are operational. Radiographers will have the opportunity to train in both. The X-ray department opens Monday to Saturday with on- call cover during out of hours, and bank holidays. The department is closed on Sundays. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious general radiographer to gain experience in specialised orthopaedic imaging Main duties of the job The post holder will work across all areas of the X-ray department including theatres, Fluoroscopy, out-patients /in-patient main x-ray, HiRise CT, EOS and DEXA centre. You will be expected to provide high quality diagnostic images whilst ensuring patient care and safety is paramount. You will work closely with other members of the team including radiologists, radiographers and assistants and will be expected to be a senior presence within the department and involved in the teaching of students and more junior members of staff. Assist the dentist to reassure and inform the patient about their treatment, further treatment and appointments, being aware of body language and cultural difficulties and dealing with these in a sensitive and appropriate manner, showing empathy and reassurance at all times. Provide close chairside assistance, anticipating the clinicians' requirements to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Maintain close liaison with the clinician in the care, observation and supervision of patient with special needs and patients unsuitable to be seen in general dental practice or by general dental practitioners with problems such as complicated medical histories.
