GSL Education are currently seeking a committed and resilient Secondary SEMH Teacher to join a vibrant school in High Peak from September. This flexible role can be offered full-time or part-time and is suited to educators with a strong ability to adapt across a range of subjects and meet the complex needs of learners. Your Responsibilities as a Secondary SEMH Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons across various subjects tailored to students’ individual EHCPs and emotional needs. Foster positive relationships with pupils to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and academic engagement. Support the development of key life skills through enrichment activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Liaise with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to create a consistent support network. Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews and behaviour plans. Requirements for a Secondary SEMH Teacher: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory. Must be confident across subjects such as Maths, Food Technology, Science, PSHE, and Duke of Edinburgh sessions. Strong behaviour management skills and a trauma-informed, restorative approach. Full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained.
