Job description Responsible for the strategic development of Health & Safety, building organisational capability and maturity and embedding Health & Safety including Fire and First Aid into operational processes. Providing visible leadership for the Health & Safety profession, role modelling positive behaviours, communicating key messages and providing a voice for the profession. Establishing and maintaining a clear governance framework and reporting regime aligned to Health & Safety best practice, including relationships to internal and external governance bodies. Manage furniture supply contract ensuring that appropriate Occupation Health equipment is sourced and delivered to the office or the home in a timely manner. Be a key H&S Committee stakeholder, recommending action and providing Executive updates as required. Work closely with Trade Unions to identify and take forward H&S issues and actions Keeping abreast of new or pending changes in legislation which would likely have an impact on CH business, adjusting activity accordingly Take part in objective setting with Head of Estates, providing sound rationale and advice on actions, building tasks and action plans and a programme of work. Work closely with HR colleagues to streamline processes for Occupational Health referrals, to ensure that recommendations are suitable and available, challenging to ensure solutions are cost effective as well as relevant, balancing budgets and requirements. Align activity to GPA requirements as landlord in a practical way. Person specification Skills: Inter-personal skills and communication at all levels within the business. Have good problem-solving skills in difficult situations. Good planning and organisational skills including good time management skills. Ability to train staff at all levels within CH. Qualifications and Certifications We're looking for a Health & Safety Manager with the below qualifications and certifications and/or equivalent and demonstrable experience and a willingness to work towards: NEBOSH Diploma OR working towards completing the NEBOSH Diploma. IOSH certification. Internal Auditing qualification such as ISO 45001 of HSG 65.
