    • A Vacancy at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be a doctor wishing to develop their skills and knowledge of general medicine. The successful appointee will support the care of the General Internal Medicine in-patients on our General Internal Medicine ward . The post will also provide rotational opportunities to work on our Medicine Wards, this will include possible opportunities to work within Diabetes and Endocrine and/or Respiratory. Clinical: ward-based duties to include routine review of patients, progressing care, prescribing, requesting and evaluating relevant tests, liaising with all medical and allied health professionals. Education: there are educational opportunities throughout the working week including educational meetings, general medical grand round and core training. This post would give excellent experience prior to an application for higher training in Respiratory or General Internal Medicine. It would also be a great opportunity for a candidate interested in GP training to gain additional skills or a special interest. The post will be whole-time (part time or job share will be considered, please contact to discuss). Clinical and Supervision • The post holder will be expected to carry out ward-based duties, to include routine review of patients, progressing care, prescribing, requesting and evaluating relevant tests, liaising with all medical and allied health professionals. • There will also be opportunity to attend specialty outpatient clinics. The post-holders will have a Consultant Clinical Supervisor and encouraged to follow the training curriculum, including participation in appraisal. Managerial • The management responsibility of the post holder will be to the Clinical Director for Medicine who is responsible to the Chief Executive and Trust Board. Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance • The post holder must be aware of clinical governance and clinical risk management and take an active part in their implementation, including audit. Clinical audit is established at the BRI. • Participate in at least one supervised audit project during the post and will be encouraged to attend interdisciplinary clinical governance meetings. On-Call Commitment The successful applicant may have the option to join the existing medical CMT on-call rota throughout the post, however this is only by arrangement and availability. About you You'll spend much of your day communicating with customers and colleagues via phone and email, so strong communication skills and an ability to quickly build relationships are essential. Complex customer service experience is also important, as you'll play an important part in helping us provide the best possible service to our customers and because things can change fast and often, you'll have excellent attention to detail, lots of resilience, and a genuine ability to take setbacks in your stride. You'll also bring: • A high level of emotional intelligence to recognise and manage powerful emotions in customers during distressing times - and have the ability to handle complex situations calmly. • Excellent listening and communication skills • The ability to effectively build relationships. • The ability to make sound decisions within an agreed framework. • A passion for helping customer and seeking solutions in complex or challenging situations. • Experience of Mortgage Arrears Management and/or Collections experience is valuable but not essential as full training to fulfil this role will be provided.
